2012 Beauty Favorites!

Sorry its a little late but I’ve been ridiculous busy this last month!

Here are my 2012 Beauty favorites! Now, I have to say I had some really bad luck with beauty products this year. I honestly don’t know why, but it was SO HARD for me to look through my stuff and choose favorites! The list is short but my JANUARY favorites are looking promising so you’ll see a lot more there (:

Also, I’m going to do a 2012 fashion favorites post this week as well, and that one should be more fun! Keep your eyes out for that! (:

Okay, so starting with face products (things like face washes and such)

Face Wash; My face wash favorite for this year is one that I discovered in high school and always seem to go back to. Its the Neutrogena “Deep Clean” Cream Cleanser. What I like about this is the fact that it isn’t loaded with fragrance and other ingredients. Its so simple and gets the job done. I’ve tried so many different face products and I always go back to this, I literally have broken out ONCE all year and it was last week while I was on vacation because I forgot to pack it!

Face wash/Makeup remover; Surprise, Surprise, another Neutrogena face wash. I swear this brand is the best. I alternate between this and my deep clean cleanser and I’ve found that this combination is the best for my skin. I use this face wash when my skin just needs to be refreshed or if I feel like I have any makeup residue on my face.

Makeup remover;  Olay’s dry make up removing cloths are by far my favorite makeup remover “wipes” I have very sensitive skin, and VERY sensitive eye lids so I really needed something that wasn’t going to give me a bad reaction. These wipes remove all makeup completely and is by far the best at removing mascara.

Night Cream;  Pond’s Dry Skin Cream is again, something I’ve used since high school. I’ve never found anything that compares to this, I always end up using it. Its so moisturizing and creamy, my dry skin has never felt or looked better. I use it at night because I feel like during the day it would be too much, especially under makeup. Its not greasy at all so I feel like it would work for a lot of different skin types.

You can find all these skin products at the drug store for no more than about $10!

Hair Products

Shine Serum;  Suave professionals “Keratin Infusion.” I’ve tried A LOT of shine serums and this one really impressed me. For one thing it smells amazing and makes my hair ridiculous shiny. I use it when I flat iron my hair and its seals over split ends and diffuses any frizz. It makes my hair feel so soft and silky, so if you’re having as hard a time finding a good serum as I did, this one may just impress you too!

Leave-in Conditioner;  Pantene Pro-V’s “Silky Moisture Whip” Moisturizer and Styler. I’ve blogged a review of this and the curly hair formula and I fell in love with both. Again, I’ve struggled to find a good leave-in conditioner that really works for me, but this product has changed my hair. So silky and soft, shiny and smooth. So in love.

You can find both these hair products at the drug store for under $10!

Last but not least Makeup Favorites!

Eye Shadow;  My Urban Decay Naked Palette. Can I just say how much I love this? I honestly think its the perfect palette, literally nothing compares to this. Its got a great combination of matte and shimmery colors that you can use for every day looks, or fun looks for going out. I think this is something every girl should own, it will change how you do your eye shadow. Its a little on the expensive side but its honestly completely worth it. I got this for christmas LAST YEAR and I haven’t even hit pan on any shade. I use this every day. Go get you one.

Highlighter; Benefit’s “High Beam.” I don’t use this every day but when I go out on weekends or I’m having a date night I put this lumminator on my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, chin, and cupids bow (just a tiny dab) and I get this incredible glow that adds the perfect touch.

Eye Primer; Benefit’s “Stay don’t Stray” eye primer. You always hear so much about Urban decay’s and Tarte and Mac eye primer and I don’t know about you but I NEVER hear about Benefit’s primer. I don’t understand this because this one in my opinion, is the best. The staying power is amazing, I can put eye makeup on in the morning and it looks just as good at the end of the day.

Makeup Setter; Well makeup setting spray isn’t exactly a necessity, but it is nice to have around. I don’t use this every day but when I do use it I love it. It doesn’t cause me to break out and it helps my makeup stay all night long. I got this from Sephora, its a travel size and came with a travel sized benefit kit for 10$! Perfect for testing the product.

"Foundation"; This is actually a BB cream, but I haven’t had much luck with foundations this year. Garnier “Skin Renew Miracle Perfecter” with SPF 15 has been a staple in my makeup routine. I usually wear this when I’m feeling lazy and don’t want to spend a lot of time on my makeup. It can be used as moisturizer and a foundation in one. I’ve read some reviews and some people think its too greasy. The formula I have is the original, but I’m pretty sure they’ve come out with a less oily version for those of you who have more oily skin.

Lip Products; FreshSugar Lip treatment and tint (rose). I got this as a birthday gift from Sephora via their rewards system. Its so moisturizing and the tint is perfect. It looks pretty red but it comes off pretty opaque, perfect for when you want a little color and a lot of moisture.

BB cream can be found at the drug store for about $10 and the others were all found at Sephora!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! If you have any products that you favorited this year let me know in the comments! (: Hope you all had a fantastic year and HAVE a fantastic 2013!
